Live music and performances regularly foster a vibrant social scene, attracting groups and individuals looking for a fun night out. Some visitors mention that parking can be a challenge, especially during peak times. Although there’s limited parking on-site, free public parking is available nearby, which can require a short walk. A few guests find that the entrance has a couple of steps, which could pose slight accessibility challenges for some. Additionally, the busy atmosphere during popular hours might lead to longer wait times for a table, particularly on Sundays when the Inn reaches full capacity. Another complaint includes the occasional noise level during live performances, which may deter diners seeking a quieter meal. While these issues are worth noting, most patrons agree that the overall positive experience outweighs the inconveniences.
I went there with my elderly mother and a friend for my birthday. I had been there previously so I knew that it was good. My mother had a kiddies lamb roast dinner which was more that enough. My friend had chicken with rice and I had chicken jalfreize. All meals were superb, cooked to perfection and came out piping hot. For dessert we had banoffee cheesecake with a quality vanilla ice cream, sticky toffee pudding with custard. Both delicious and well presented. There was only one step in the bar and a small step by the entrance so good for elderly diners. Limited parking outside with one disabled space, but free public car park along the road. Without hesitation I would recommend this eatery.
What a hidden gem tucked away in what looks like a village from bygone days. The Inn is a warm welcoming place to taste and enjoy the exceptional food on offer, along with real ales and wines and of course the non alcoholic drinks for the those who are driving. Dogs are most welcome too. Staff are truly friendly. Food hot and tasty. Definitely a return visit in the new year.
Great food well worth a visit we will be returning !!!
Small tucked away pub/restaurant. Don't be misled by the deminutive exterior it has a deceptively large interior. Strongly recommend booking a table to avoid disappointment. Really nice olde worlde village pud atmosphere. All the food coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled 1st class. Real homemade cut chips fresh side salads and generous portions. Good selection of on tap ciders beers and ales.
Came here with family for the first time last night on a recommendation and we weren't disappointed. Good range of drinks and food. And what food! Plentiful and delicious it was. No starters just mains with the intention of desserts but there was no way, we were all stuffed! I had the steak and Stilton pie which was fab and the other dishes were equally excellent. We have no hesitation in passing on the recommendation to you.
I finally found a place that had gammon on their menu. Our group of four all had excellent meals, very large portions. My gammon streak was exactly like I had hoped. The chips were crispy, the salad was good. Overall a great visit. Well done to the team.
Excellent pub near to the waters edge really hidden unless you know it is there. We stayed at an Airbnb (crows nest, also recommended) just a short walk up the hill Place can be busy so suggest booking. Warm armosphere with good selection of ales etc although seems more of a place to eat in the evening than just have a drink. Really good menu and a specials board. Food was excellent. Menu said real chips but unreal chips is a better discription. Meals we had were 1st class and whilst portions are large they are well presented and quality couldn't be faulted The staff are all really warm and friendly with a smile even when busy Food cooked to order and so was slow coming out but well worth the wait. Can recommend and if you are in the area really the place to go for at least one meal.
